The ocean circulation around Antarctica
The graphical representation of oceanic circulation in the circumpolar region of Antarctica takes on a remarkable expression through the presented maps, which intricately detail the dynamics of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC) and the oceanic fronts that characterize it.
The cartography was developed using QGIS software, incorporating geospatial information sourced from NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and The Norwegian Polar Institute.
The maps were produced in collaboration with the Argentine Antarctic Institute for the Atlas of Antarctic Argentina by IGN.
